Description

Yamaha’s GL-1 is 50% guitar, 50% ukulele, and 100% fun.
It’s a special nylon-stringed guitar with the body of a baritone ukulele (17” scale) that combines the convenience of the
ukulele with the chord fingerings of a guitar.
The tuning is pitched up to A so the string notes are A-D-G-C-E-A, making the top three strings the same as the ukulele’s and the fourth the same note, only an octave lower. This means songs will sound the same as on a full-sized guitar, but higher for that happy ukulele sound.
The GL-1 guitalele has a laminated spruce top, laminated meranti back and sides, nato neck, and rosewood fretboard for a bright and joyful sound.
It’s an entertaining affordable instrument that is portable enough to accompany you on any trip that lacks quick fun tunes.
