Description

Ferdinand Marcos - President of the Philippines 1965-1986/1978 Typed Letter Signed as President
Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr. (1917-1989) - Filipino politician, lawyer, and kleptocrat
who served as the 10th President of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. Espousing an ideology of “constitutional authoritarianism” under the New Society Movement, he ruled as a dictator
under martial law from 1972 until 1981, and kept most of his martial law powers until he was deposed in 1986. One of the most controversial leaders of the 20th century, Marcos' rule was infamous for its corruption, extravagance, and brutality.
8“ x 10.5“ typed letter, on “Office of the President of the Philippines” stationary, October 19,1978, acknowledging his autograph request, signed in fountain pen. Transmittal folds with a stamp sized spot of thinned paper to the left of the “Office of…”, it looks like someone peeled a stamp off and took a bit of the paper with it, otherwise very good - fine.
This is from an extensive 50 year collection covering all categories, that was built from the 1940’s through the 1980’s.
