Early Antique Wood Carved and Painted Figure
This is a great antique Wood Carved Figure, I am told he is from Italy and may be a religious figure or an Italian mannequin.
The figure has detailed painted face and head. It looks like a european style carved and painted face.  Though you can still see his features, much of the paint that has worn over the years.  He appears to have blue glass eyes.
He has white cloth remnants on his arms and around his center is a wrapped gauzy type material which I think helped hold his clothes on.  He must have beautifully dressed at one time.
He legs are painted to go with the outfit that he wore at one time - it looks like he is wearing leggings and white knee high socks.
He also has great black shoes which look like they would have a buckle on the sides.
He has articulated shoulders and elbows.   It looks like the lower part of the arms and hand can disconnect from the wood arms
His supported on a small box stand for display.  On the box he measures a large 21.5" tall.  Overall, even with the damage to the paint and finish, he is in good early antique condtion and is a great antique display figure.
